Beyond The Wire - Poelcappelle

Poelcappelle is a municipality located in the Belgian province of West Flanders and the location of the battle of Poelcappelle which was fought on 9 October 1917 by the British Second Army and Fifth Army against the German 4th Army, during the First World War.

This level was included in the second chapter of Beyond The Wire called “For King and Country” and features the village of Poelcappelle as the main point of interest of this map. It includes the British and German forces and highlights a barren, crater filled landscape with trench lines on both the eastern and western sides of the level.

I worked on this map in cooperation with Maurice Grela, who assisted me near the end of the development of the level.
